Questions about settlements and reports

What is a theatre settlement?

A settlement is the statement that splits a production's box office between the venue and the visiting producer, after commission, fees and agreed deductions.

What does the settlement calculate?

Commission on gross takings, plus VAT, card fees, PRS, contras and royalties based on the agreed terms, giving the amount owed to the producer.

What goes into a show report?

Each performance has a show report with attendance, comps and bar takings pulled in live, plus notes from front of house. Signing it off locks it.

Does it handle in-house productions?

Yes. In-house shows produce a royalty statement instead of a producer payout.
